THY CATAFALQUE – Róka hasa rádió

Hungarian THY CATAFALQUE was born in 1998 as epic black metal band. Since that time it has progressed to its actual, very original music that can be described as avant-garde post black metal / ambient / folk. Tamás Kátai and János Juhász, the forming couple of THY CATAFALQUE, invited nine other musicians (viola, cello, clarinet etc.) as guests and they recorded very unusual 70 minutes album called „Róka hasa rádió“. The whole album is in Hungarian, male vocal is completed with beautiful ethereal female voice of guest singer Ágnes Tóth (The Moon and the Nightspirit). „Róka hasa rádió“is coming out in nice eight pannels digipack in limited edition of 600 pieces.

CLOSING THE ETERNITY – Noughtwards

After very successful album „Nearby Being“ (2006, in cooperation with Ad Lux Tenebrae project), we bring you a new album of mysterious project from Russian Ural. 74 minutes long composition called “Noughtwards” is full of dark harmonic drones and subtle pulsations, and is meant to multiply your inner self by zero and to take you off... noughtwards. JÄÄPORTIT – Voimasuo

A new album of frosty Finnish project JÄÄPORTIT. Seven atmospheric compositions blending together dreamy etheric ambient, cold rhythmical nordic electronics and melancholy post-rock. The album is thematically dedicated to the world under human kind transformation. Intense, strong and polymorphous album hardly to fit in conventional categories, because it´s kind of a musical labyrinth, definitely worth of exploring. With a big pleasure and proud I can announce a new acquisition of our label. Hungarian THY CATAFALQUE was born in 1998 as epic black metal band. PRAGUE APOCALYPTIC EVENING became history.

Sathurday evening was the end of my several moths work and aspirations. From my point of view, we succeded to have really great evening with very specific atmosphere thanks to the presence of international audience end to the performers who don´t occur very often in Prague. So I would like to thank to all who took a share in organization, to all the audience and performers. I believe to have another opportunity to organize a kind of exceptional evening like this in the future.

NACHTREISEN - double-headliner-tour 2009

The time has come: In March 2009 the Austrian Black-Metal-Legend DORNENREICH will tour in Metal-Line-Up for the very first time since 2001. To present their DVD “Nachtreisen” (“Nocturnal Journeys”) and as a herald of their forthcoming studio-album “Flammentriebe” (“The urge of the flame”) Dornenreich will debut songs of this album and they will play numerous songs of their 13-year-history on this much longed for tour with the following line-up:

Eviga - voice, electric guitar, Inve - violin, Gilvan - drums

Dornenreich’s friends AGALLOCH will join this special journey, which will be the only European Tour for Agalloch and their unique “Cascadian Dark Metal” in 2009. It will be Agalloch’s last tour supporting “Ashes Against The Grain.

MELY, an Austrian Melodic-Metal-Band, will be a part of this tour as special guest and they will perform their melancholic hymns passionately.

EPIDEMIE RECORDS organizes the Prague show of the tour on the Monday of the 23rd of March 2009 in Exit club Chmelnice (Prague 3). Start is at 8.00 PM and the ticket costs 350 CZK (it´s approx. 13,50 EUR). We don´t have pre-sale, capacity of the club is sufficient for everybody.

UMBRA NIHIL (Finland) – The Borderland Rituals CD OUT NOW!!!

After their debut album „Gnoia“ (2005, Firedoom Records), the Finnish band UMBRA NIHIL comes with a brand new album „The Borderland Rituals“. 5 long obscure, frosty compositions of hypnotic doom metal.

The album's initial concept was inspired by themes introduced to some of us by the writer William Hope Hodgson (1877-1918) in the brooding horror novel The House on the Borderland. In order to achieve a suitable claustrophobic sound and eerie, forbidding atmosphere the album has been recorded in an isolated and quarantined abandoned house on the inbred borderland, sullenly crafting the band's sound into a more organic and gelatinous direction.

In epileptic fits of pathetic rage the album betimes raises a trembling and arthritic pale fist at the uncaring cosmos-at-large and its malevolent nightside entities, which haunt hapless Mankind with unfathomable purpose - or lack thereof. Mostly, however, the aural ambience resolves in resigned rudderless levitation towards inevitable mental and physical disintegration.

Additional astrality has been contributed by Tuomas M. Mäkelä of the ambient band Jääportit.

’The Borderland Rituals’ has been mastered by Devo Andersen at Endarker Studio in Sweden.

15 YEARS OF EPIDEMIE RECORDS

It seems to be almost unbelievable, but it´s truth. 15 years ago, EPIDEMIE RECORDS released its first title (MC compilation of Czech and Slovak bands called EPIDEMIE 001). Nowadays, we prepare two new releases with the catalogue number 065 and 066. Looking back I can see a lot of things. In spite of our releases I remember hundreds of concerts and festivals, thousands of listened albums and demos, also discovering various genres and meeting a huge quantity of people all over the world. Great time indeed! So I would like to thank all the bands we cooperated with, all the people helping us with the label, and especially you all who support us buying our stuff. Without you all the work would lose its sense. Thank you all!!!
