Krásný gothic / ethereal / folk z Maďarska. Digipack.
Since their debut "Of Dreams Forgotten And Fables Untold", The Moon And The Nightspirit belong to the most popular proponents between Medieval, Pagan Folk and World Music. With "Holdrejtek" ("lunar sanctuary"), its fifth and arguably strongest album so far, the Hungarian duo makes its debut on Auerbach Tonträger / Prophecy Productions. On their latest effort, The Moon And The Nightspirit stay true to their style, which is coined by ethereal vocals, violin, acoustic guitar and percussion, yet appear more mature and diverse than ever in terms of composition and instrumental arrangement. Just like its predecessor "Mohalepte", "Holdrejtek" is much influenced by a deep veneration for and love of nature as far as its concept is concerned, while this time, mastermind Mihaly Szabo approaches the subject in a less romantic and more intellectual way. The lyrics are rife with the philosophical idea of simultaneous oneness and duality of...
Krásný gothic / etherea / folk z Maďarska. Digipack.
Ever since their inception, the name The Moon And The Nightspirit is metonymic with enchanting and melancholic folk music enhanced by a bewitching pagan aura where threads of ancient mysticism combine with phantasmagoric atmospheres. Now the Hungarian duo, namely multi-instrumentalists Ágnes Tóth and Mihály Szabó, returns with its sixth studio album, "Metanoia".
The group's new work builds on its alluring, fairytale-esque explorations, delivering enveloping songs that are as gentle as they are powerful. Creating otherworldly music built on the backs of multitudes of instruments and the beautiful, ethereal vocals of Tóth, The Moon And The Nightspirit delivers its most impressive music to date and cements its place as frontrunners of the folk / world music landscape. As with previous The Moon And The Nightspirit albums, the lush, delicate artwork created by Tóth provides the perfect visual accompaniment to the duo's sprite...

An enchanting debut
With their 2005 debut album "Of Dreams Forgotten And Fables Untold", The Moon And The Nightspirit at once created a niche of their own between Medieval Music and Pagan Folk. Conceptually, the Hungarian duo addresses the innocence of childhood, the power of dreams and the yearning for a golden age of the soul, which corresponds with the positive, magical-seeming aura of the music.

The Moon And The Nightspirit's third album is the group's most spiritual one
On "Osforrás" from 2009 the Hungarians ponder questions about enlightenment, tackle shamanism and rituals as well as the mental renunciation of all things mundane. Therefore, it is not surprising that apart from a distinct touch of Near Eastern music, also shamanistic-seeming chants and hypnotising rhythms make their way into the band's music.
Druhé album maďarské kapely z roku 2007, znovuvydané v roce 2014 na německém labelu Prophecy Productions.
"Rego Rejtem" was released in 2007. Its concept is rooted in the struggle for freedom, the departure from the material world in favour of wilderness. According to these topics, "Rego Rejtem" is strongly influenced by Celtic World Music, a tendency already heard on the predecessor "Of Dreams…".

THE VISION BLEAK return in grand style: The German duo's seventh full-length "Weird Tales" constitutes a monumental tribute to the eponymous American pulp magazine and other tales of mystery and dark imagination. The album consists of a single track that is divided into internal chapters, which are each inspired by weird tales, poems, and other literature of horror and the macabre. On "Weird Tales", THE VISION BLEAK are referring to eminent writers of the legendary magazine such as H. P. Lovecraft and Clark Ashton Smith, but also allude to authors that were never featured in the magazine, for example Edgar Allen Poe and Lafcadio Hearn, whose "Fantastics and Other Fancies" was very influential for this album. THE VISION BLEAK are pulling every register of their enormous musical prowess. The chapters range stylistically from flamboyant gothic rock via dark doom to harsh black and death metal parts – and about...
