Opět k dostání toto velmi pozoruhodné album z Iránu. Melanchoilický temný black doom metal s prvky ambientu. Velice kvalitní hudba i produkce. CD vyšlo na běloruském labelu Possessions Productions a níže pro zajímavost tisková zpráva labelu.
As always, we have tried to break the next stereotype and release Metal album "Suicidal rebirth" of Iranian (!) project EKOVE EFRITS. The world not and knows about Darkness hiding in the Persian desserts much. And it would be necessary to be more informed … It is forbidden to play Black Metal in Iran. But not so, that "ah-ah-ah it is impossible so to do", for it you'll simply be prisoned. For the Persian to perform Black Metal means to risk his life for real. And it is especially forbidden to play Black Metal live which is so beautiful and filled with propagation of things which are far from islam. Even do not ask how we got the master-CD into our hands… in Iran it is impossible to go banal at post office and send a compact disc, the Internet...
Francie. Digipack.
"Sunwar the Dead" is the second part of the five-album cycle started with "Winds Devouring Men" and finished with "A World In Their Screams" (2007). "Sunwar the Dead" sees the core trio recording with a complete classical ensemble and female choir of 50 musicians for the first time, taking the much-admired production of "Winds Devouring Men" to a further level and bringing the sound of the ensemble to a new dimension in terms of liveliness, clarity, complexity, and power.
Precizní progresivní black metal ve vysoké skandinávské kvalitě. Lahůdka pro příznivce Vreid, Arcturus a podobných smeček. Digipack. Norsko.
Symfonický black metal. Rusko.
Ponurý depresivní black metal. Rusko.
Examined from temporal distance, Empyrium’s complete body of work is within reasonable limits in terms of quantity: during the eight years of the band’s history, they released four albums, each of them marking a recognizable progress from its predecessor. 1996’s still immature and effusive debut “A Wintersunset ...” paved the way for “Songs Of Moors & Misty Fields” (1997), Empyrium’s hallmark in the Dark Metal underground. In the next few years, the band offered “Where At Night The Wood Grouse Plays” (1999) and “Weiland” (2002), two albums as sophisticated as unique in terms of both music and content, straying beyond the scope of conventional genres, the closest denominator being Dark Folk, if only for a lack of alternatives. With “Weiland”, Empyrium finally came so close to the essence of their own creative spirit as to seeing no more sense in continuing the band, resulting in dispersal for the time being.
As the title suggests, “A Retrospective ...” is a look back on the work...
Velmi zdařilá živá nahrávka EMPYRIUM z roku 2011.
une 11th, 2011, was a landmark date in Empyrium's history. After more than 15 years, Schwadorf and Helm played their very first show ever on that day, taking place at the Wave Gotik Treffen in the Pantheon of Volkspalast Leipzig. For this memorable event, the two core members put together an illustrious concert line-up, consisting of Konstanz (The Vision Bleak), Neige (Alcest), Eviga (Dornenreich), Fursy Teyssier (Les Discrets), Aline Deinert (Neun Welten) and Christoph Kutzer (Remember Twilight), who had rehearsed pieces from every creative phase of Empyrium as well as the new, so-far unreleased song "Dead Winter Ways".
A masterpiece of monumental and bombastic Dark Romantic Metal
With "Songs Of Moors And Misty Fields" (1997), Schwadorf perfected his dark Metal full of classical Romanticism and traditional folklore. The album relates back to the band's debut "A Wintersunset ...", but also delivers the blue-print for their later development into more tranquil folk sceneries.
With their fifth album, Empyrium embark on a new creative phase
Twelve years after their last studio effort "Weiland", Empyrium - the masters of natural ambiances set to music - return with a much-anticipated new album. Notwithstanding their creative break, "The Turn Of The Tides" is an Empyrium-album par excellence, although it bears strong testimony to the artistic and personal growth Schwadorf and Helm have undergone since 2002. The pre-published songs "The Days Before The Fall" (from the compilation "Whom The Moon A Nightsong Sings", 2010) and "Dead Winter Ways (released in November 2013 as a limited vinyl-EP) have already implied that for their new material, Empyrium draw on different forms of musical expression more confidently than ever, yet do not shy away from the wide range their oeuvre has offered so far.
Concurrently with the music, the conceptional aspect of "The Turn Of The Tides" attests to a mature and evolved elaboration on Empyrium's essence. Nature and human...
The quintessence of nature mysticism
'Weiland' is Empyrium's fourth album and embodies the quintessence of this unique band. Still performed acoustically, it combines the atmospheric suspense of the first two albums (e.g., "Heimkehr", "Die Schwäne im Schilf") with the pensive still lives of "Where At Night ..." (e.g., 'Kein Hirtenfeuer glimmt mehr', 'Nebel'). The musical spectrum of the project is enriched through the re-integration of drums and the introduction of instruments such as viola, violin, bassoon, or Mellotron, so there is also a lot to discover for those who already know Empyrium. The album is entirely devoted to nature mysticism. In its three chapters - Marsh, Forest, and Water -, Empyrium portray their view of nature in romantic and legendary ways.

The precursor for "Weiland"
Their third album sees Empyrium abandoning the Metal elements of their music for the first time, instantly creating a classic of nature-romantic acoustic music.
Inspired by Ulver's "Kveldssanger", this work is more influenced by the folklore of Schwadorf's home region, the Rhoen, than any other album by Empyrium, and it paved the way for "Weiland" (2002).
