Doom metal s prvky funeral doomu, sludge a drone metalu. Digipack. Španělsko.
Experimental doom metal from Spain. More than five years after the acclaimed untitled demo (also known as Veiled), Excurse returns to unveil the secrets of Aion into the shape of a first full-length album. The album was recorded by multi-instrumentalist M.S. (Arkaik Excruciation, Sudaria, Suspiral...) between late 2017 and early 2018 in 3 different sessions of chaos invocation.
A unique blend of traditional doom metal, drone doom, funeral doom and sludge metal resulting in a dark and haunting audio experience that remained private until now.
Nové jméno na doom metalové scéně. Melancholický hutný doom metal s prvky progresivního rocku i post rocku. Řecko.
The debut album of Fragment Soul “Axiom Of Choice”, is a prog/doom masterpiece, featuring in all songs guest appearance by Heike Langhans of Draconian!
4 long tracks (approx. 10 minutes each!), with a progressive, doom, dark, hard sound that will love every metal/rock fan!
A concept album, that represents a journey through romance, torment, fear and, at the end of it, an unexpected tranquility that drives the main characters into despair and deliverance alike.
Debutní album doom death metalového projektu z Ukrajiny.
Emotions and messages conveyed by Fretting Obscurity are based on philosophical existentialism and the works of Jean-Paul Sartre. The title of the project speaks of fundamental unknowableness and hostility of the physical realm.
The image used in the title of the album - flags in the dust - was borrowed from William Faulkner. It is a symbol of formally announced ethical values that are not observed in practice in the era of bigotry, consumption and torpor.
As for the music itself, the style of the project was shaped by a 'three-guitar canon' as represented by Mournful Congregation and tends towards the use of multiple layers with occasional heavy passages and doom-death riffs.
Třetí album této velice extrémní a chorobné doom death metalové kapely. 4 skladby na ploše 93 minut vychází jako dvojCD. Francie.
3rd album of French extreme doom/death. Their previous album "Deceived Idealism" was double CD album, which contained 6 songs. This album is also double CD, which contains 4 doomed hymns over 90 minutes! Extremely slow suffocating rhythm accompanied by crushing doomed low freqency. Hypnotic minimalistic riffs with eerie harmonies. Deep growling and hysteric screams. They are still walking on the same doomed path of "Deceived Idealism". They are walking into much darker and bleaker realm of extreme doom/death!
V reedici na 1 CD vydané stará dema z 90-tých let této řecké kapely. Krásný hutný náladotvůrný doom metal té doby.
Greek doom/death metallers GARDEN OF GODS (featuring singer Stefanos Kintzoglou, ex- singer of On Thorns I Lay!)) is another group that helped the Greek metal scene to grow up in a more professional enviroment.
The band released 2 demos during the ’90s, which had a great feedback among the fans, but they never released on an official cd. Something we are doing now, and proudly present to all of you another hidden diamond of the amazing Greek metal!
“Confines Of Mortality” includes the band’s both demos, in a remastered edition, plus 3 bonus live tracks!
For fans of Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, Anathema, Saturnus, On Thorns I Lay, Swallow The Sun, Nightfall, Septic Flesh, Cemetary, Lake Of Tears, Amorphis, Katatonia.
Opět k dostání debutní album z roku 2000 této velmi pozoruhodné norské kapely. Monumentální atmosférický doom psychedelic progressive metal. Digipack.
The debut album by the spearheads of Doom Metal
On their debut "Journey To The End Of The Night", Green Carnation (who back then featured illustrious guest musicians such as the Botteri twins from In The Woods ... and Vibeke Stene from Tristania) combine Black, Death, Doom, and Heavy Metal to a unique style that is hard to compare to other bands. At best, you could describe the Psychedelic Doom Metal on "Journey ..." as a cross between Pink Floyd and Candlemass.
Nádherný severský atmosférický melancholický metal. Digipack.
One year after their debut "Journey to the end of the night" (featuring Vibeke from Tristania and the Botteri twins from In The Woods ...), Green Carnation released their second album "Light of day, day of darkness" in 2001. This was the first solo album of master-mind Tchort and contains just one 60-minute track - his musical legacy. He is being supported by Kobro (Carpathian Forest) who returned to Green Carnation after 10 years of absence, guest vocalist Jan Kenneth Transit (In The Woods..., Naervaer), a children's choir, a classical choir and sitar players.
Temný náladotvůrný melodický doom metal. Lahůdka pro příznivce Paradise Lost, Nevermore, Moonspell. Řecko.
The astonishing debut album of Greek dark metallers!
The perfect mix of the sound of Nevermore and Paradise Lost!
Based in Athens (Greece), I Abyssick were founded in early 2017 by Constantin Maris on Guitars/Vocals (Forbidden Seed ,Starve the Hydra, Atrocity Pioneer) and Aggelos Seaito on Drums.
Later on the same year, they joined forces with Makis Sel on Bass and George Petropoulos on Guitar.
At the end of 2018, recordings began at Eventide Studios with the precious contribution of Akis Prasinikas (Desert Near The End) and Nik Rock.
Moreover, Giannis Nakos (Mortal Torment) and Alexandros Papandreou (Desert Near The End) appear on guest vocals.
Remedy Art Design managed perfectly to depict the lyrical concept of the album with an amazing artwork.
Kosta Vreto (Horizon’s End, Kosta Vreto,Wardrum) mixed this endeavor and polished it with fine mastering…The band got in...
Hutný melodický a melancholický doom metal z Ruska.
The Russian group In Tenebriz creates at the junction of the genres Atmospheric black and Doom with a strong influence of Post-metal. On the "Winternight Poetry", Wolfir performed all the vocal parts himself. The new album interprets the story of Kai, who went to the halls of the Snow Queen. But, unlike the original story, in the world of In Tenebriz, no one prevented him from putting ice on the word "eternity", and he remained a prisoner in the kingdom of permafrost. Winternight Poetry will appeal to fans of Atmospheric Dark metal, as well as fans of the early Katatonia, Paradise Lost, Draconian and Cemetary.
Americký hutný esoterický sludge doom metal.
This record is titled "Lux", i.e. "light" in Latin, and one of the central ideas behind it is the notion of a Prima Materia, or fundamental root-essence behind everything in the manifest universe. Philosophers, hermeticists, alchemists, occultists, and all manner of different wizards have speculated what that Prima Materia, or “root essence,” is, but the three chief analogies I've employed in this record are:
All is sound
All is mind
and, critically, All is Light.
With that in mind, we are employing a wealth of Solar imagery with this record, both in the front cover, and lyrically. The cover is essentially an artistic re-imagining of The Sun arcana from Tarot. This ties into the broader solar & light themes at play in the album, but the title, cover, and broader theme is also uniquely personal to me. "Lux" is the etymology of my daughter's name. So, while this album functions as a form of esoteric prayer on one hand, it also...
Melancholický doom metal ze Švédska.
“Anesidora” delivers Isole’s most refined work yet, enriched by its maturity! An album that in a way is to the point, yet sets a softer tone without losing its Doomy Heaviness. Isole, originally formed under the name Forlorn, way back in 1990 before changing to Isole in 2003. They have released 7 full lengths albums and “Anesidora”, their 8th album. Isole are a 4 piece with Daniel Brynste and Crister Olsson on guitars, Jimmy Mattsson on bass and Victor Parri on drums. Mattsson provides harsh vocals while Brynste and Olsson provide cleans. Lots of great harmonies and cleanly sung passages blend with big riffs and dreamy solos. Grand soundscapes are created with multiple layers and clever song structures with minimal fuzz or sludge. Typical of this style really, expect longish songs with plenty of time given to create atmosphere. There is great respect due to any band that reconsiders their approach as personal and personnel relationships change...

Classic Isole album available again! Melodic and beautiful, captivating yet crushing! This is the third album from the majestic, marvelous Isole. After the amazing “Throne Of Void” we all had high expectations for this album, and those were fulfilled. Venturing once more through “Bliss Of Solitude”, the album opens up after some spins, and becomes something so powerful some still can’t believe it. This album is like a picture of two faces: if you stare at it long enough, it becomes something else entirely. This album is not too easily accessible at all, which should not be a shock for a Doom album, but it really takes some time to tune into it, and then you are treated to masterful riffs, impressive and classically inflected leadwork, and haunting vocals that sound like a ghost in a cathedral. This is sorrowful, and yet the sheer beauty of it lifts it from depressing into exaltation. Isole has stepped beyond comparisons to Solitude Aeturnus or...

Classic Isole album finally available again on CD! Deep sorrowful Doom Metal! New album coming in March 2023. We guess by 2023 Isole hardly needs to do anything in order to be considered the third Doom Metal behemoth on Swedish soil after Candlemass and Count Raven. With only masterful Doom Metal opuses in their discography the guys should have been content with the impact they had on the scene enjoying their status as one of the premier Doom Metal providers in the new millennium. There was hardly any need in changing the formula for “Born from Shadows”. The moment the sorrowful riffs of “The Lake” hit, the fans will instantly know that the guys haven’t misled them, and that this opus is high-octane epic Doom all the way. Faster-paced guitars emerge at some point their dynamic leaps assisted by surprising Death Metal growls before more lyrical deviations sink everything in grief and mourning. “Black Hours” combines doom with the ballad in a...

Fans of classic Doom Metal should beg, steal, or kill to get their hands on “Dystopia”. This is a big album, with big songs and a big sound! Isole formed under the name Forlorn back in 1990. Several demo tapes were recorded in the 1990s, including Waves Of Sorrow in 1994 - a recording still revered by epic Doom Metal fans. After a few years of turmoil, I Hate Records approached them in 2003. With a newly signed contract and much motivation, the band saw it fit to adopt a new moniker, thus becoming Isole. Isole’s debut album, “Forevermore”, was released in early 2005. The next album, “Throne Of Void” - released in the summer of 2006 - delivered an even darker sound than its critically acclaimed predecessor. The next step in Isole’s journey was signing with major label Napalm Records and the release of “Bliss Of Solitude”. “Bliss Of Solitude” received overwhelming positive feedback from fans and critics alike; however, Isole did not fall prey to...
Isole’s classic impressive Doom Metal debut album finally available on CD again! If you think Doom Metal to be nothing but depressing lyrics and vocals, minor keys, and tempos slower than a bulldozer you are probably right. Doom Metal is infamously notorious for being extremely listener-unfriendly, mainly for its plodding nature. Riffs are repeated an abundance of times, and the music makes you feel like you will fall over in exhaustion at parts. However, there are some doom bands that break this mold. Older My Dying Bride, newer Candlemass and some Cathedral are quite a bit more listenable; they have interesting song patterns and melodies, and untouchable vocals in places. Isole falls into this pattern as well. Forlorn, formed in 1990, released a few demos, and then went into hibernation for a good portion of the 1990s, only to resurface again in 2003 under the name Isole. Under their new name Isole, they released their first album in 2005. Isole are straight up Doom Metal, plain and...

Classic Isole album finally available again! Deep sorrowful Doom Metal! Being able to make songs with play lengths over 10 minutes that go by as if it was a 1-minute interlude is quite a positive skill and Isole seems to have acquired this skill to a high proficiency. Even though “Silent Ruins” is over 50 minutes long, it is over before you know it. This is by no means a negative remark, but merely serves to underscore the quality of Isole’s songwriting. In fact, the music is highly enjoyable, heavy and intricate, and topped with a great production. Although slow and mid-paced songs are most of what this album has to offer, Isole seems to be keeping a rather firm speed in moving through their songs. It is never the case that the songs become too slow or become boring because too little is happening. While none of the music is cheerful or mirthy, the atmosphere on “Silent Ruins” seems to be slightly more uplifting and positive than your regular...

With only masterful Doom Metal opuses in their discography the guys should have been content with the impact they had on the scene enjoying their status as one of the premier Doom Metal providers in the new millennium. Prone to a more progressive style of songwriting than masters of epic Doom like Candlemass and Solitude Aeturnus, Isole heap a lot of content into their songs, which makes “The Calm Hunter” a challenging, yet exciting listen even at only 51 minutes. What this album draws closest to is a more boisterous and less reverent - though equally sorrow-filled - travel through Doom’s heartlands of woe and regret as imagined by Swallow the Sun and October Tide. Guitars chug...

Classic Isole album available on CD again! Comes with “The Beyond” EP as bonustracks! However, there are some Doom bands that break this mold. Older My Dying Bride, newer Candlemass and some Cathedral are quite a bit more listenable; they have interesting song patterns and melodies, and untouchable vocals in places. Magnificent. Isole have a name that didn’t really grab me, so I didn’t track this down until overwhelming word of mouth made me change my mind. Incredible that this is only their sophomore effort, though this band has been together in one form or another since 1991. Throne of Void is so good it’s just scary, as so many bands try for years to produce an album that’s only half this good. Bands like Forsaken and Orodruin, much as I love them, have never produced a disc this good. This is just a Doom classic, no question or argument allowed. If one had to compare Isole on this album with one band it would have to be Solstice, the UK’s...
Nová kapela vzniklá po rozpadu legendárních Agalloch.
Rising from the ashes of Agalloch and Giant Squid, a new group is born: Khôrada. Featuring former Agalloch members Don Anderson (guitar), Jason Walton (bass) and Aesop Dekker (drums) alongside ex-Giant Squid guitarist / vocalist Aaron John Gregory, Khôrada creates colossal, textured, and emotionally powerful music.
As a completely fresh concept, Khôrada is an opportunity for the musicians to explore new soundscapes while challenging themselves creatively. With their debut album "Salt", Khôrada forges breathtaking swathes of sound that swell, stretch, submerge and recede with panoramic power.
At once atmospheric, aggressive and apocalyptic, the album's emotion is driven by the band members' view of today's world; these are precarious times. "Salt" was written under the pressure and uncertainty of the beginning of the Trump-era, standing as a musical exploration of the routine madness we now live. Paired with the surreally...
